Today our students participated in an interactive activity focused on community connection and prevention lead by staff from Prevention Consultants of Missouri
Research shows that young people who feel connected to peers and have at least one trusted adult in their lives are significantly less likely to experience harm and more likely to seek help when they need it. These connections are known as protective factors — they increase safety, resilience, and emotional well-being.

During the session, students explored:
• The importance of belonging
• Identifying trusted adults
• Looking out for peers
• Small actions that strengthen a safe school community
We encourage you to continue the conversation at home. You might ask:
Who is an adult at school you feel comfortable talking to?
What makes someone a trusted adult?
What’s one way you can help someone feel included this week?
How can I support you if something feels uncomfortable or unsafe?
Strong communities are built through everyday connections. Thank you for partnering with us to support your child’s safety and well-being.
