Careers in Education Summit

The St. James R-1 School District is hosting a Careers in Education Summit on March 5, 2024. This event, presented by the Grow Your Own Initiative, promises to inspire and inform individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in education. 

Join us to hear from distinguished guest speakers who embody dedication and excellence in their careers. Brook Fleshman and Katie Moreland will share their insights and experiences with attendees.

Brook Fleshman: Guiding Students Toward Success

Brook Fleshman, the high school counselor at Putnam County R-1 High School, brings valuable experience to her role. With a background in business education and counseling, Brook has been supporting students for 16 years. She's passionate about mental health and helping students find their paths.

Katie Moreland: Nurturing Young Minds in St. James

Katie Moreland, a dedicated educator, has been teaching 4th-grade ELA and Social Studies at Lucy Wortham James Elementary for 12 years. She's committed to providing a stimulating learning environment and fostering leadership skills through the Elementary Beta Club.  Katie was honored as the St. James R-1 School District Teacher of the Year in 22-23.

The Careers in Education Summit offers students and future educators the chance to learn from professionals like Brook Fleshman and Katie Moreland. School districts are encouraged to coordinate group attendance for their students at this enriching event.
