National Beta is proud to announce that St. James R-1 School District has been named a 2024-2025 National District of Distinction. This award is presented to select districts that offer National Beta in all of their schools and induct qualifying students in all eligible grades (4–12). St. James R-1 is one of only 78 districts in the nation to receive this honor.
Through the dedication of club sponsors and the hard work of Beta members, the district has continued to grow and thrive since receiving its initial Beta charter. This national recognition highlights St. James R-1’s ongoing commitment to academic achievement, leadership growth, and meaningful service, all essential components of preparing students for college and career readiness. Students across the district consistently embody the Beta motto: Let Us Lead by Serving Others.
“Receiving this honor reflects the amazing work happening across our buildings,” said Superintendent Tim Webster. “Our students, sponsors, and staff continue to model the values of leadership and service, and we’re proud to see that recognized on a national level.”
As part of the recognition, St. James R-1 will receive a National Beta District of Distinction award to display at the district office, and each participating building will receive a commemorative plaque for their school.
