National Beta Club Convention

Students from all three St. James R-1 buildings proudly represented the district at the National Beta Club Convention in Orlando, Florida, and returned home with several top honors.

St. James Middle School earned national recognition, taking home the 1st Place in the Service Learning Showcase category. The winning team included Cambreigh Chancey, Kinley Lorts, Liam Tarvin, and Logan Tarvin.

National Beta ConventionIn addition, Cambreigh Chancey and Cash Mendenhall placed 5th nationally for their Solo/Duo/Trio Variety Act performance.

National Beta Club ConventionAt the high school level, Johnny Perkins placed 6th in the 11th Grade U.S. History academic competition.

National Beta Club ConventionSeveral other students from Lucy Wortham James Elementary, St. James Middle School, and St. James High School also competed in various events, both in person and virtually.

The district is incredibly proud of all participants for their hard work, dedication, and outstanding representation of our community on the national stage. Special thanks to the Beta Club sponsors and parent coaches for their continued support and encouragement throughout the journey.
