St. James R-1 School District is excited to introduce Lily Bahr, a senior at St. James High School, as the district’s first Marketing and Communications Student Intern for her school.
The opportunity was created through a collaboration between high school administration, marketing teacher Mrs. Jordan Hance, and Communications Director Beth Keyes. Lily has had an extensive background in business classes at St. James High School over the last few years, including marketing, student-based enterprise, and entrepreneurship.
As part of her senior marketing class, Lily will be creating and curating content for St. James High School’s communication channels, highlighting activities, events, students, staff, and the everyday moments that make up the high school experience.
Lily will work closely with Mrs. Hance and Mrs. Keyes as she takes what she is learning in the classroom and puts it into practice. This gives her the chance to learn about marketing and communications in a real-world setting while gaining experience she can take with her after graduation.
“This is such an exciting opportunity that will give me not only knowledge but experience for my future endeavors! I am ready to learn and grow,” said Lily Bahr.
The internship is also a great example of the district’s Portrait of a Graduate in action. St. James R-1 wants students to have opportunities to use what they learn in meaningful ways and to see how those experiences can connect to their future.
“Lily is a great fit for this opportunity, and I’m excited to see what she does with it,” said Keyes. “She gets to be creative, tell the story of her school, and get real experience doing it. That’s exactly the kind of opportunity we want our students to have.”
Stay tuned for more content coming your way from St. James High School, brought to you in part by Lily!
