Levy on the Ballot

On April 4th, St. James voters will be asked to consider Proposition TIGERS (Today’s Investment Gets Educational Rewards for Students). District Administration finished filing official paperwork to have the proposition added onto the ballot.

PROP TIGERS is a $0.65 operating levy increase to RETAIN quality staff through salary increases. The levy will also be used to save money to MAINTAIN current buildings and increase safety in the St. James R-1 School District.

In 2020, the St. James District developed a Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP). The committee was made up of community members, District staff members, students, and parents. The levy increase was a focus of that meeting and subsequently built into our CSIP Plan. After receiving St. James R-1 School District Board of Education approval in December, the proposition has been officially filed in all our voting counties and registered voters will see it on the ballot in April.
