It was a great opportunity for our students to showcase the work they have been doing and share some of the success of Tiger Express. It was also a chance to connect with other students and educators, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.
We appreciate RTI/RTC taking the time to visit and collaborate with us!
Over the next several weeks students will use the jobs assigned to them to continue exploring the book, looking for other possible themes, symbols, real-world connections, possible questions they have, and more!
Last week, DECA and Sports & Entertainment Marketing students attended the STL Cardinals Career Day. These students showcased what being Future Focused means!
The day started with getting to hear from a panel of executives in Human Resources, Marketing, Ticketing, Cardinals TV, and FOX2 News Anchor. The panel discussed careers in sports and media, what skills are needed to succeed, and provided insight into the obstacles they face in their positions. There was also a college fair, they then had the opportunity to watch the STL Cardinals game!
Officer Gray found himself right in the middle of our cheerleaders Friday night, pom-poms in hand and getting loud with the crowd!
We love seeing our staff get involved, support our students, and be part of the moments that make being a Tiger special.
That’s what being part of the Tiger family is all about.

Tiger Excellence in Action
Last week, SJHS kicked off our new Tiger Excellence Positive Referral Program, recognizing students who demonstrate the qualities of our Portrait of a Graduate in their everyday lives.
We're proud to recognize Preston Rothe for exemplifying what it means to be Future Focused through the grit and determination he has shown while working toward graduation and preparing for what comes next outside of high school.
Tiger Excellence is about noticing these moments, celebrating them, and reminding our students that their growth matters.

Tiger Spotlight!
This past weekend, two of our high school seniors were crowned at the Grape and Fall Festival! Congratulations to Acie Prawitz and Cat Murphy!
Last night, senior, Raegan Witt hit the first home run of the year! This is a huge accomplishment for our tigers that deserves to be celebrated! If you see Raegan give her a shoutout!
Freshman Orientation in the Library!
The freshman English classes used their Critical Thinking skills last week in the library. Students sat through a presentation given by Mrs. Harlan, introducing them to the library, how to find books, how everything is labeled, and highlighting new books as well as the Gateway Readers. The class then began a scavenger hunt to use the information given to them, the fastest team with the correct answers, won a prize!
Students went to the gym last week and got to explore all the different clubs and organizations at the high school. They got to hear from student representatives and learn all the amazing things each club or sport has to offer.
Due to the excessive heat, tonight’s kickoff has been moved from **7:00 PM to 8:00 PM**.
We’re making this change out of an abundance of caution, while still looking forward to a great night of Tiger football.

Tiger Wars Meets Pep Assembly!
Last Friday, high school students got together for the first Tiger Wars of the year. Tiger Wars is an incentive activity that rewards students for keeping their grades up, showing up to school, and receiving positive office referrals. Twice a month grades compete in fun games to earn points with the hopes of winning the big prize at the end of the quarter. This week's winner: SENIORS!
Yesterday, we shared information about changes to student parking for the 2026–27 school year. We recognize that we could have done a better job explaining the bigger picture from the start.
For several months, we’ve been working with input from our Principals’ Roundtable to develop something special for our seniors. Our plan was to finalize the details and unveil it when the Class of 2027 returned to campus.
We’re excited to share it with you now!
🎨 INTRODUCING SENIOR LEGACY PARKING!
We are creating a designated Senior Legacy Parking area with numbered, reserved spaces. Eligible seniors will have the opportunity to choose their own space and paint it with an approved design for the 2026–27 school year.
Yep. Your own numbered space. Your own design.
The remaining parking spaces will be numbered and reserved for underclassmen to choose from when they purchase their parking passes.
🎓 PILOT YEAR — CLASS OF 2027
Students must be classified as a senior for the 2026–27 school year, and for the pilot year they must meet at least 2 of the following 3 requirements:
📅 90% attendance or higher
📚 2.5 GPA or higher
✅ No Out-of-School Suspension (OSS)
Applications will open soon. Details about space selection, design guidelines, and the approval process will follow. Please keep an eye out for that information.

Parking Pass Update
🚗 Parking Passes for This School Year
We’re making a change to student parking this year! Instead of assigning each student to a specific numbered parking spot, we are moving to open parking.
Students who purchase a parking pass will be able to park in any available numbered parking space in the student parking area. Your pass gives you access to the parking lot—it will no longer correspond to one specific spot.
We believe this will make parking simpler and more flexible for everyone.
📌 Parking passes are available now for $10.
When purchasing a parking pass, students will need to provide the following information:
Vehicle Make
Vehicle Model
Vehicle Color
License Plate Number
Students can bring this information to the office when they come to purchase their pass.
