LWJE Tigers kicked off Field Day with tons of heart and laughs! From sack races to water games, Kindergarten through 2nd grade brought the joy and made the most of a GREAT morning outside!

The LWJE Art Club has been busy making things bright! With colorful window art outside and new murals in the gyms, the building is bursting with creativity just in time for warm weather and sunny days.

Tiger Highlight: Once Upon A Mystery - Readers Award Celebration! 👑📖🔍
Eighty-five hardworking readers from all three buildings earned a spot on this year’s Readers' Wall of Fame, and they were celebrated with a night straight out of a storybook! To land on the Readers' Wall, students had to read at least four books from either the Mark Twain, Truman, or Gateway Awards nominee lists.
Students were invited to a Fairytale Mystery Dinner, where a wild cast of well-known characters brought plenty of laughs, twists, and surprises. As the mystery unfolded in Fairytale Land, students and staff enjoyed a delicious three-course meal provided by Marketplace Cafe, then had the chance to solve the whodunit before the night was through.

Learning Highlight: St. James Middle School Takes the Stage! 🎭🌍🌮
Stagecraft class and Drama Club turned the spotlight on student-led creativity with their original production: Taco Bell World Tour. From the scriptwriting and directing to acting and set design, every single part of the show was crafted entirely by students.
The skit took the audience on a trip around the world, with each stop featuring animals inspired by favorite Taco Bell menu items. They performed the show twice for their peers and middle school staff, turning the stage into a showcase of talent, teamwork, and imagination! #ArtsInEducation #academicexcellence #stjschools

Tiger Highlight: Presidential Physical Fitness Award Winners at LWJE! 💪🐯🎉
Huge shoutout to the Lucy Wortham James Elementary students who earned the Presidential Physical Fitness Award this year! This national recognition is awarded to students who demonstrate all-around excellence in physical fitness by ranking among the top performers in their age group. To celebrate their hard work, they enjoyed a fun-filled trip to The Zone and the St. James Park. Way to go, Tigers! #academicexcellence #stjschools #tigerpride
Tiger Highlight: 3rd Grade MAP Carnival Fun! 🎡🐯🍭
Third grade wrapped up MAP testing with a well-earned celebration at the MAP Carnival! Students traded in points they earned through their testing efforts for games, snacks, prizes, and photo booth fun. The carnival took place on the 4th-grade playground, giving them a sneak peek at next year’s stomping grounds! #caringrelationships #stjschools #tigerpride

Tiger Highlight: Exploring What’s Next! ❤️🐯🤍
Our 5th-grade students took a big step this morning as they visited St. James Middle School for a special tour from current 8th graders! This transition is an important one, and today’s visit gave them a chance to ask questions, see their future classrooms, and ease some of those jitters.
