Students calculated percentages while creating their own trail mix recipes, then enjoyed a sweet treat made from their work. Congratulations to the Red Team for coming out on top in a hard-fought championship game against the Blue Team. The gym was full of energy as students in grades 3-6, families, and a few high schoolers filled the stands.
Thanks to the St. James MO Kiwanis Club and their volunteers, this championship was about more than the final score. Their support helps create positive experiences for our students while reinforcing sportsmanship, responsibility, and a strong sense of community that extends well beyond game day!

Tessellations in High School Math! ❤️🐯🤍
To wrap up their transformations unit, high school math students tackled a tessellations project inspired by artist M.C. Escher! Starting with a square, students created a new shape and used translations, rotations, and reflections to build repeating patterns. Each tessellation became its own mini canvas, showing how geometry connects naturally to art and real-world design like architecture and construction. Thanks to our team of educators for crafting cross-curricular opportunities!
