Middle School Careers Class Builds Future Ready Skills! 🤝🐯❤️
Students in Careers class have been strengthening important habits for the future through confident handshakes, resume creation, and interview practice. With support from high school student leaders in DECA and FBLA, they had the chance to put those skills into action through hands-on experiences and peer guidance.
These opportunities help students grow in confidence, prepare for future careers, and take meaningful steps toward life beyond the classroom. Future Focused starts with building real-world skills! #academicexcellence #stjschools #tigerpride

This is The Heart of a Tiger!

Students in Mrs. Hance's Student-Based Enterprise class are making a statewide impact through Tiger Express Apparel, their student-run business. Recently, the class completed its largest order to date, producing 475 shirts for the Missouri Association of School Librarians (MASL).
This achievement highlights the real-world learning happening at the high school level as students gain experience in production, business operations, teamwork, and customer service. Through opportunities like this, students are building the skills connected to our Portrait of a Graduate focus on Future Focused, preparing for careers, entrepreneurship, and success beyond graduation.

Mrs. Talbott’s class recently became published authors after completing a unit on insects! Each student selected an insect to research, gathered facts, and wrote their own piece based on what they learned. Those individual writings were then combined into a class book, creating a published collection of their hard work and creativity.
This project highlights our Portrait of a Graduate focus on Critical Thinking, as students transformed their learning into a format they can proudly share! #CriticalThinking #stjschools #tigerpride

Students in Mr. Overton’s history class transformed the high school gym into a World War II museum, bringing history to life! Each student selected a major WWII battle, uncovered a meaningful story, and created a physical artifact to represent it.
From detailed artwork to hand-built models, every piece reflects creativity, research, and a deeper understanding of history. No two projects were alike, making this a powerful example of students taking ownership of their learning. The entire high school had the opportunity to walk through the museum, explore the exhibits, and vote for their favorite display.
Take a look at some of the incredible work created by our students! #academicexcellence #stjschools #tigerpride

April has been a busy and exciting month for our Special Olympics athletes! Earlier this month, students traveled to Waynesville to compete, and today they headed to Sullivan for another day filled with friendly competition and fun!
Our Tigers received an incredible send-off organized by our local first responders: St. James Police Department, St. James Ambulance District, and St. James Fire Protection District. Thank you to our Tiger Community for your support, to our student volunteers for your time, and to our staff for making it all possible!
Way to go, Tigers! #communitypartnerships #stjschools #tigerpride

Today is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day, and we are proud to recognize the incredible team at Copeland Bus Service! Your focus on safety, dependability, and care makes a real difference for our students and families every day.
You are often the first and last school connection in a child’s day, helping set the tone for learning, growth, and success. Thank you for everything you do to keep our Tigers moving safely forward!

Our 4th and 5th-grade Singers represented St. James at the Central District Elementary Honor Choir on Saturday, April 18, at Osage Beach Elementary! Students spent the day rehearsing alongside peers from across the district under the direction of a guest clinician, then shared their hard work in a concert for families.
It was a full day of learning, collaboration, and music-making, and our Tigers, with the support of Mrs. Ament, did a great job representing LWJE and the District!

Kindergarten Backwards Bootcamp continued the alphabet countdown with V day, and it brought some explosive science fun! Students headed outside, made predictions, and then ran a Mentos and soda experiment to see what would happen.
Lots of excitement, big reactions, and eruptions that made learning come to life! #academicexcellence #stjschools #tigerpride

St. James FFA students represented the district at the State FFA Convention, taking part in competitive events, leadership activities, and statewide recognition ceremonies. Several teams earned strong ratings, while students also participated in the State FFA Chorus and served as delegates in the official business session.
A highlight of the convention was the on-stage recognition of students earning their State FFA Degrees, the highest honor at the state level. Congratulations again to the following students: Belle Bolte, Abby Fuhring, JV Meurer, and Kate Strackeljahn.
The district is proud of all our students for their professionalism and leadership! Thanks to FFA sponsors Trish Watson and Phil Branstetter for their support of the program! #stjschools #tigerpride

The American Sign Language (ASL) Club from St. James Middle School, under the guidance of sponsor Mrs. Stacy Waldmann, visited kindergarten and first-grade classrooms to share beloved stories like Good Night Moon and Green Eggs and Ham!
Through signing and storytelling, students helped bring each book to life in a way that made reading more engaging and accessible for all learners. This experience highlighted Effective Communication as students connected through sign language and storytelling! #academicexcellence #stjschools #tigerpride

First-grade students explored the phases of the moon through a fun, hands-on lesson using Oreos to model each stage of the lunar cycle. From new moon to full moon, students used creativity and curiosity to bring science to life, with a sweet treat waiting at the end of the activity! #academicexcellence #stjschools #tigerpride

National Honor Society Induction at St. James High School! ❤️🐯🤍
Last night, 46 students were welcomed into the National Honor Society, joining an exceptional group of leaders committed to Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These four pillars continue to guide students as they grow, serve others, and make a positive impact within their school and community.
This year also marks one of the largest graduating senior classes in NHS history, with 43 students, alongside the second largest group of inductees during Sponsor Mr. Josh Adams’ tenure. During the ceremony, senior members recognized their Most Influential Teacher, sharing appreciation for the educators who have supported and inspired them throughout their journey.
Congratulations to our newest inductees and graduating seniors on this achievement! #NationalHonorSociety #stjschools #tigerpride

Twelve FBLA students traveled to Springfield to compete at the 2026 Missouri FBLA State Leadership Conference, joining more than 5,000 students at one of Missouri’s largest student leadership events. Led by Adviser Kristin Lorts, Tigers competed in events such as Data Analysis, Agribusiness, Digital Video Production, Impromptu Speaking, Introduction to Business Communications, Event Planning, Personal Finance, Project Management, and Retail Management.
Students earned their spot at State by qualifying through the District Leadership Conference competition back in February. At State, they took on projects, case studies, presentations, and tests in both individual and team events. While no students finished in the top ten, each competitor grew through the process and gained real-world experience.
We’re proud of you! All Roads Lead Forward! #FBLA #FutureLeaders #stjschools
