Future Leaders Represent St. James at State FBLA Conference! ❤️🐯🤍

Twelve FBLA students traveled to Springfield to compete at the 2026 Missouri FBLA State Leadership Conference, joining more than 5,000 students at one of Missouri’s largest student leadership events. Led by Adviser Kristin Lorts, Tigers competed in events such as Data Analysis, Agribusiness, Digital Video Production, Impromptu Speaking, Introduction to Business Communications, Event Planning, Personal Finance, Project Management, and Retail Management.

Students earned their spot at State by qualifying through the District Leadership Conference competition back in February. At State, they took on projects, case studies, presentations, and tests in both individual and team events. While no students finished in the top ten, each competitor grew through the process and gained real-world experience.

All Roads Lead Forward, One Country at a Time! 🌏🐯❤️

Mrs. Moreland’s fourth-grade students recently took a “trip” to Vietnam as part of a cultural learning experience in the LWJE library!

Students began with an educational video and reading The Yellow Ao Dai by Hanh Bui with Mrs. Hunter. They then rotated through hands-on stations featuring games and crafts inspired by Vietnamese culture. Each activity allowed students to explore the traditions of a different country.

This library series continues to bring global learning to life, showing students that no matter the destination, All Roads Lead Forward to curiosity, understanding, and growth! #academicexcellence #stjschools #tigerpride

St. James FFA Member Recognized as Area 14 Star Farmer! ❤️🐯🤍

JV Meurer was honored at the Missouri FFA State Convention after being named the Area 14 Star Farmer and recognized as one of the Top 16 candidates in the state for the State Star Farmer award.

The Star Farmer recognition represents years of work through a student’s Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE), where members are responsible for managing their own agricultural operation. This includes everything from day-to-day decision making and record keeping to tracking finances, evaluating production, and growing their enterprise over time.

JV’s recognition reflects his level of commitment and hard work. Along with earning his State FFA Degree, the highest degree awarded at the state level, he has continued to build his skills through hands-on learning and competition.

Being named a Star Farmer finalist places JV among the top student agricultural leaders in Missouri and highlights the kind of dedication and responsibility that defines St. James FFA! Congratulations! #StateHonors #stjschools

Holocaust Remembrance Week: One Family’s Story

Today, middle school and high school students had the opportunity to hear from Vera Emmons of the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum, who shared the powerful story of her mother, Gerda Nothmann Luner.

As a teenager, Gerda endured years in concentration camps, showing resilience in the face of unimaginable hardship. Through this personal story, students gained a deeper understanding of the Holocaust and the real lives behind the history they study.

Moments like this serve as an important reminder of why history matters, not just to remember the past, but to better understand the choices and responsibilities we carry moving forward.

Thank you to Vera Emmons for sharing her family’s story with our students, and to Mrs. Watson for making this meaningful opportunity possible through her outreach efforts. #communitypartnerships #stjschools #tigerpride
