Tiger Cubs are discovering how real-world learning comes to life in the classroom! From watching Mr. Craig at work on their playground treehouse to building and creating on their own, they’re exploring teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity in every project. #academicexcellence #stjschools #TigerPride

St. James High School FCCLA students recently showcased their talents during the Show-Me Skills events at their Leadership Conference! Maria Prawitz earned 1st place in Culinary Knife Skills, and Madison Shields placed 3rd in Photography.
FCCLA empowers students through personal growth, family and community involvement, and preparation for adult life. The Show-Me Skills competition gave our Tigers the chance to demonstrate the real-world knowledge and abilities they’ve developed through Family and Consumer Sciences coursework and activities. Great job, Tigers! #stjschools #tigerpride

Third graders visited the library for a lesson that connected science and reading in a big way! After reading “Give Me Back My Bones” by Kim Norman, students explored human anatomy using Merge Cubes and iPads. Through their iPad screens, students saw 3D models of the human body appear in the room around them, giving them a hands-on way to explore and interact with what they’ve been learning.
Library experiences like this demonstrate Effective Communication, providing students with opportunities to connect ideas, share discoveries, and make learning come alive through collaboration and technology. #academicexcellence #stjschools #tigerpride

Last week, St. James FFA students represented our district at the FFA National Convention in Indianapolis! They had hands-on learning experiences, from exploring heavy equipment at Caterpillar to visiting Fair Oaks dairy and pork farm to see animal reproduction and robotic milking in action.
A special congratulations to our 2024 graduates, Eli, Lexy, Lexi, Logan, M’Lynn, Caleb, and Emily, who earned their American FFA Degree, the highest honor an FFA member can receive!

Congratulations to Julianne Murphy for being selected to the 2026 All-State Children’s Choir! She’ll join around 200 talented students from across Missouri for a day of rehearsal and a special performance on January 27 at Tan-Tar-A during the annual Music Teachers Conference.
Julianne’s accomplishment is a wonderful reminder of the power of Arts in Education. Opportunities like this help students build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Way to go, Julianne! #ArtsInEducation #stjschools #tigerpride

Each month, Lucy Wortham James Elementary highlights a different character trait and recognizes students who bring it to life in their classrooms.
October’s trait was CREATIVE THINKER, and Tigers have been showing off their imagination, problem-solving, and original ideas.
At the end of the month, each teacher selected one student who truly embodied this trait. Together, these Tigers are LWJE’s October Students of the Month!

Congratulations to our runners for their success at districts today! Two athletes are headed to next week’s state meet after finishing in the top 30: Ashton Moreland (3rd place) and Kylar Hodge (20th place)!
The state meet will take place next Saturday at Gans Creek in Columbia, MO.
Help us cheer them on!

Business Tech students started their career unit by taking the True Color Personality Test. They discovered their strengths, areas to grow, and how their personality colors relate to different career paths. Next, students will take other aptitude tests and choose three careers to research, exploring industries, job roles, required skills, and education or training needed.
This hands-on exploration helps students become Future Focused, planning for the paths that lie ahead. #academicexcellence #stjschools #tigerpride

Tiger Cubs took hands-on learning to the next level this Halloween week! With hammers and pumpkins all around, students practiced hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills while learning through play in a festive, hands-on activity. #academicexcellence #stjschools #tigerpride
