Nine 5th-grade students from Lucy Wortham James Elementary showcased their math skills at the Math League Southwest Regional Competition in Springfield on April 6th. Tough opponents were met at the competition, where fifth graders represented more than half of the 104 advancing students. Kudos to Adeline B. for clinching 4th place in the Target round!

In March, LWJE showcased acts of courage as our students displayed bravery in various situations. March's Word of the Month was COURAGE!
Throughout each month, students across all grade levels will participate in engaging classroom challenges that encourage them to embody the “Word of the Month” in their daily lives. At the end of the month, each classroom teacher will select a student who has truly embraced the spirit of the word. These students will be recognized as "Students of the Month.”
