The St. James R-1 School District welcomed our new educators by hosting our New Teacher Academy over the past two days. The group included teachers moving from other districts as well as first-year teachers.
Educators were able to learn during professional development sessions, embarked on tours of our school buildings, and met district personnel. These days set the stage for a great journey of learning, connection, and preparation for the upcoming academic year.
To our new team members: your dedication, passion, and energy have already begun to weave a positive influence within our educational community. You are now officially Tigers!

Earlier this week, nearly fifty educators took part in our biannual relationship training, an initiative close to our hearts. Facilitated by Joe Pellerito, a trainer with Capturing Kids Hearts, the comprehensive two-day program delved into the art of cultivating authentic connections with our students.
Staying true to our mission here at St. James R-1 School District, we remain dedicated to empowering students through caring relationships, academic excellence, and community partnerships. During the training, our staff learned tools and strategies, positioning them to grow even more resilient bonds with our student body.

Today, we proudly celebrate #MissionMonday, highlighting the positive impact of collaboration on student growth and development. We believe strong ties with our community are vital to creating a thriving educational environment, extending beyond classrooms to offer enriching experiences.
Recently, the District hosted a satellite volleyball camp for 6th to 12th graders, led by Missouri S&T volleyball coaches, Andy Halaz and Ryan Thompson. Over three days, our players focused on fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship under the expert guidance of these college coaches.
We extend heartfelt gratitude to Coach Halaz and Coach Thompson for working with our students. And thank you to our own talented volleyball coaches for organizing this opportunity!

Wondering when online registration will open? Anxiously awaiting who your child’s teacher will be this year? We know things are a little later and here is why.
The St. James R-1 School District will be utilizing Infinite Campus as our NEW Student Information System. Once our new system is live, families will receive an email from the district with the steps to create their new Parent Portal Account and for the registration process. You will also be able to find information on the website once registration opens: www.stjschools.org.
Online registration will be opening soon, so be on the lookout for communication. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we change our software.
