Happy Earth Day from St. James R-1 School District! 💚🌍♻️
Today, we celebrate our students' incredible work to care for our planet—both inside and outside the classroom. From elementary to high school, each building leads its own recycling initiatives, helping students build lifelong habits of sustainability. But it doesn’t stop there—students from all three buildings are also stepping up to support community-wide efforts, showing that environmental responsibility goes beyond our school walls.
Together, we’re empowering environmental stewards and making a real impact! #EarthDay #stjschools #TigerPride

Mission Monday: Grateful Hearts, Giving Hands! ❤️🐯🤍
LWJE Student Council members and their families came together to create a special gift box for the St. James Police Department—filled with goodies and gratitude! At St. James R-1, we believe GREAT things happen when students are empowered through caring relationships and community partnerships—and this is a perfect example of that mission in action.
Thank you, Student Council and families, for leading with kindness! #MissionMonday #stjschools #tigerpride

Learning Highlight: From the Classroom to the Capitol! 🏛️📚🌟
Last week, 3rd-grade students hit the road for an unforgettable trip to the Missouri State Capitol! The group toured the Capitol building, walked the Bicentennial Bridge, and discovered Adrian’s Island—all while connecting what they’ve been learning in the classroom to real-life history.
As part of their unit on Famous Missourians, students are studying influential people who helped shape our state. This visit brought those lessons to life, and students saw the history they've been reading about up close. Thank you to Representative Tara J. Peters for providing lunch, families for joining us, and our incredible teachers for making it all happen!
GREAT things happen here—especially when families and learning come together! #academicexcellence #stjschools #tigerpride

Mission Monday: Growing Our Own! 🌱🐯❤️
Last week, interested students and district paraprofessionals were invited to take part in our Future Teachers of America (FTA) & Grow Your Own Day, a special event designed to inspire the next generation of educators.
Participants explored the teaching profession through hands-on workshops, a vision board session, and a Teacher Q&A Panel featuring current and retired educators. The day also included networking with college representatives and a celebratory College Signing Ceremony to honor students taking their next step toward teaching.
This event was made possible through the Grow Your Own grant, and we’re grateful to Sponsor Ms. Katie Shultz, along with our district staff, presenters, and community partners who helped bring it to life.
When students are surrounded by support and opportunity, they begin to see what’s possible—and that’s when GREAT things happen. #MissionMonday #stjschools #tigerpride
